Linda J. Evans Receives Inaugural Frank Callen Award

CELEBRATES FOUNDER, Mr. FRANK CALLEN
Linda J.Evans, a noted community advocate was presented with the first Frank Callen Service To Youth Award for her outstanding work of leadership and dedication to the organization.at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Empire's Annual Steak & Chicken Dinner and Charity Auction on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the Savannah Station banquet facility. Terry Enoch, the administrator of the Chatham County Jail was the main speaker. He spoke on the "Power of one, making a difference". As a former Boys & Girls Club member, Colonel Enoch is an advocate for youth and families. WTOC TV news anchor, Brandi Cummings was the evening's host. Ms. Cummings' penchant for girls' advocacy made her a perfect fit for the occasion.
The dinner was sponsored by the Downtown Outback Restaurant. Savannah Station Banquet, Inc. graciously donated their facility for the event. It was a fun and entertaining evening. Decorations were provided by Savannah Balloons. The dinner guests shared their tables with the Club's youth members- the future leaders of Savannah. An exciting auction was conducted with guests walking away with fishing weekends, art, restaurants, tours of the city and hotel gift certificates. The evening raised funds for programs offered at the Boys & Girls Clubs. Over three hundred people were in attendance.
A highlight of the event was a presentation from Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation in the amount of $ 22,500.00. Other major donors were SunTrust Bank, Publix Super Market Charities, and the Cracker Barrel Foundation.
