Sabria Jones Youth of the Year 2012
Sabria Jones is a member of the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club Unit on 3.21.12, in Atlanta, GA, Ms. Jones, a 15 year old St. Vincent's Academy sophomore was selected as the South Georgia Youth of the Year. She was ith other Club competitors from across the state. Sabria&Mr.HenshawAs the 2012 Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of YOY . This award was achieved by Sabria as she was judged by her commitment to self, community , Club and achieving almost 1,000 hours of community service in the Club. She is an outstanding Keystone Club member. At the Club, she displays an assured selflessness.
She is kind and patient with the younger members who admire her and see her as a role model. She was presented her award by BGCA Southeast Region Vice-President Mr. Duane Hinshaw.The springboard for the Youth of the Year program is the Keystone Club of the Boys & Girls Club Movement. It is the most dynamic teen program. It affords teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. They conduct activities in three areas: academic success, career exploration, and community service. The Taco Bell Foundation for Teens sponsors the Keystone Club program as part of a multi-year teen initiative; a strategic partnership between the Foundation and BGCA provides Clubs with the tools and resources to create a positive place for teens as well as for kids. It is from their association with the Keystone Club that teen members strive to become Youth of the Year on the local, state, and national level.
